Editing workflow
Everything is built for iteration.
Use the app like a track-building workbench: sketch, preview, tune, hide, reorder, save, reopen, and export when the shape is ready.
Layers and groups
Every rut, bump, jump, and texture layer can be selected, renamed, hidden, grouped, reordered, or deleted without flattening the project.
Smooth and mask tools
Blend rough spots, soften edits, and mask layer effects with brush controls that stay aligned with the same save and undo model.
Reference overlay
Load a map, sketch, or texture reference over the canvas for tracing. It stays visual only and never changes the exported heightmap.
3D preview
Inspect the terrain in a live Three.js view with slope shading and display-only vertical exaggeration for easier shape checks.
Presets
Save reusable rut, bump, terrain, track, and jump settings so proven shapes can move between projects instead of being rebuilt.
Project files
Save work as a single .hm project file with the original heightmap, layers, textures, jumps, groups, and settings intact.
16-bit export
Export full-resolution grayscale terrain PNGs, transparent edge masks, texture maps, and other outputs for game-engine use.
Commercial licensing
Personal use is free. Commercial track releases, commissions, paid packs, studio work, and monetized projects require a license.
